          | "A
book may be very amusing with numerous errors, or it may be very
dull without a single absurdity." The Vicar of
Wakefield, Oliver Goldsmith If you have
contributions to make, please write Barbara

          | There is
one new correction: page 264, exercise 2.8.8, the D in
the numerator should be D squared. To see the official correction,
posted March 8, 2005, go to New errata posted
March 8, 2005 If you wish
to see mathematical errata for the entire book as of March 8,
2005, go to Errata Second Edition This list
does not contain non-mathematical typos, mistakes in punctuation,
additional comments or alternative explanations. In some cases
a mistake is noted but the complete correction is not given. To see everything
            - all known typos of every sort, additional comments, and all
corrections given in full - you may go either to the chapter
files listed below (quicker to open) or to the Master file of corrections
            and comments (It may take
quite a while to open.) The "master file" has the same
margins as the textbook, so it can be used if you wish to cut
and paste. Some of the chapter files do too.
